How Can We Help You? How Can You Help Us?

How We Can Help You:

We sincerely appreciate the volunteers who assist us and the community businesses and organizations that support us throughout the year. Many individuals supported by The Arc of Schuyler enjoy volunteering in the community and volunteer with such programs as Meals on Wheels, at Strong Kids/Safe Kids, and with the Friends of the Watkins Glen Library Book Sale. If there is something in the community volunteers within The Arc of Schuyler may be able to do for your organization or event, please call 607-535-6934 or send an email.

·         Companion for Adult or Child with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Here’s your chance to be a friend for a person who truly appreciates sharing your interests, learning something new, and teaching you something too. You could take someone to church, take a walk in the park, or play a card game. A volunteer is matched with an adult or child based on interests and a member of our staff is assigned to help provide direction and training for the volunteer as needed. Just let us know what you like to do and what your time allows.

·         Recreation

Activities might include dinner and movie nights, sports games, live theater, concerts, off site art classes, special community events and more. Most events are scheduled during evening hours or on weekends and staff are available to assist.
