Membership provides a sense of purpose and belonging. Whether you are an individual with a disability, a self-advocate, a parent or family member of someone with a disability, a staff member, a member of the community, or someone interested in offering support, The Arc of Schuyler welcomes you.

When you become a member of The Arc, you are joining 70,000 members across New York State who want to see positive change for people with disabilities. As our membership increases, so does our impact relative to issues affecting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities on local, state and national levels. The voice of The Arc and our statewide organization, NYSARC, Inc. is heard and respected on matters such as:

• Position statements on the ethical and humane treatment of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Legislative platforms advising law makers on how proposed or current legislation can affect the lives of people with disabilities in their schools and in their communities
• Advocacy for research and education for the prevention of developmental disabilities

The Arc has provided service to our local community and to people with disabilities for over 30 years. We can be counted on when people need us. Your help can make a difference in keeping these services strong. We cannot depend on government or grant funding to provide all of the important services and supports we offer to families and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. And since we are not a government agency, we depend on generous people like you.
