Residential Supports and Options Residential options at The Arc come in all sizes and types but each is planned around the individual and his or her needs, wants and desires. Intermediate Care Facility Services are highly individualized residential services designed to help people reach their maximum independence through holistic clinical oversight and consultation. The number of people living in these homes varies from 8 to 12 people. Individualized Residential Alternatives provide periodic or 24-hour home-based training and supervision for the acquisition, retention and improvement of a host of daily living, safety and adaptive skills. Again the number of people in these living situations can vary widely from 1 to 7 people. Residential Support Services provided in a person's home focus on health skills training, socialization skills training, community skills training and functional skills training. Individual Support Services supplement the needs of individuals who are living on their own but may need some limited financial and staff supports to retain their independent living.
