Recreation Events
The following is a list of recreational activities for May 2008. If you are interested in participating in any of the following events, please contact home services at (607) 535-6934 to sign up. Please call at least one week in advance if you wish to participate, or complete the enclosed sign-up form and return it to the home services office. We can provide limited transportation for individuals, so please indicate whether or not transportation is needed. It is important for everyone to know that, unlike respite programs, one of the goals of the family support program is to have whole families involved. Lack of response may result in activity cancellation.
Bowling
Where: Paramount Lanes, Elmira Heights, NY
When: Friday, May 2, 2008
Time: 6:00pm-11:00pm
Cost: $10.00
Are you ready to show off your bowling skills? If so, join Mary and Sharon for a night of bowling excitement at Paramount Lanes in Elmira Heights. We will provide transportation to and from the event and pick-up will begin at 6:00pm. Please wear socks as we will be renting bowling shoes at the alley. Cost for the event is $10.00.
Crafts with Liz
Where: The Arc of Schuyler, Watkins Glen, NY
When: Wednesday, May 7 and Thursday, May 8, 2008
Time: 2:30pm-5:30pm
Cost: $5.00
Spend two afternoons making summertime crafts with Liz. We will be starting the craft on Wednesday afternoon and completing it on Thursday. Meet Liz in the lobby at The Arc at 2:30pm on both days. We will provide transportation home. The cost is $5.00.
Black Rock Races
Where: Black Rock Speedway, Rt. 14A, Dundee, NY
When: Friday, May 9 and Friday, May 23, 2008
Time: 6:00pm-11:00pm
Cost: $15.00
Gear up for a night of dirt track racing in Dundee! Join Mary for the unpredictable, action-packed stock car racing at Black Rock. You’ll love the excitement! We will provide transportation to and from the event and the cost is $15.00.
Annual Arc Dinner and Birthday Bash
Where: Watkins Glen Community Center, Watkins Glen, NY
When: Friday, May 16, 2008 – RSVP by May 9, 2008
Time: 6:00pm-8:00pm
Cost: $30.00
Come celebrate The Arc’s 30th birthday at the annual dinner for The Arc. Join Mary for a night of festivity, fun, and delicious food. Transportation will be provided to and from the event. The cost is $30.00. You must RSVP and pay for the dinner by May 9, 2008.
Movie Club
Where: The Arc of Schuyler, Watkins Glen, NY
When: Monday, May 19, 2008

Cost: $5.00
The Movie Club is back in action! What better way to spend a Monday afternoon than with friends, food, and a good movie! Join Mary for dinner and an exciting flick at The Arc. Meet her in the lobby of The Arc at 3:00pm. We will provide transportation home. Cost is $5.00.

Bowling
